Asus ZenWatch
Display and Design
The Asus ZenWatch carries a square shaped 1.63-inch AMOLED multi touch display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a pixel density of 278 ppi. The screen has been covered with a curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3.0.
It comes with the IP55 certification and thus you don't need to worry if it gets drenched in the rain. One of the key highlights of the device is its carefully stitched brown colored leather strap along with the rose gold and silver colored layering over the display which gives it a traditional feel.
Processor, Storage and OS
For running its processes, it relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz and working besides a 512MB RAM. It has also got 4GB of onboard storage capacity which is optimum for storing the requisite apps and other files. It is powered by the standard Android Wear which enables you to connect it easily to gadgets running on Android v4.3 OS or above.
Asus has even extended some of the special features of ZenUI to the ZenWatch. For example, you can access the Watch Unlock feature for unlocking the slate or phone connected to it. You can also double tap on the face of the watch for accessing any pre-assigned task or cover its face for muting incoming calls. With the wellness manager, you can keep monitor your heart rate, count the steps and levels of relaxation. It has also got 9 axis sensors to keep a track of your activities.
Battery and Connectivity
Apart from the standard Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity which allows you to stay connected with your smartphone or slate, the device has a USB port. The battery running the show is a non-removable Li-Po battery of 280mAh. For charging it, all you need to do is to rest it on the cradle.
